That being said, I wasn't around for the release of its first consoles, and as such had little idea about the Kid Icarus series prior to Uprising's release. I don't think it's any secret that I'm madly in love with Nintendo. If none of these things will disturb you, enjoy the game! Lastly, there is a level where Pit is eaten by a giant and is forced to find a way to escape whilst fighting and wandering through his devourer's internal organs. There is also a level where you have to possess some people in order to progress and reach the end. You do not have to fight her though, and she comes out of it just fine. This is probably the worst part of the game.Īlso at another point, a major character is possessed for several levels straight. In another level, there is a character who's body is absorbed and controlled by an evil energy ball. It's not gory exactly, but might still disturb the faint of heart. ![]() In one level, a monsters' heads are chopped off, and you have to work to defeat the disembodied heads for the rest of the level. There are also some especially disturbing parts. This is a big reason why younger kids should not play this game. Most of the female characters' outfits are tight-fitting and/or revealing. The default difficulty level feels pretty comfortable, but if you want more of a challenge or are having too hard a time with it, the difficulty can be adjusted. You'll be able to play easily after just a few levels. The controls are a little unusual, but they are simple and easy to master. It's interesting to look at each of their different points of view and think about why they fight for what they do. The characters you meet along your journey are fun and full of personality. Pit has strong morals and is willing to do everything in his power to protect the life and light in the world. This game is filled with magic, fun, and adventure! The main character, Pit, and the goddess Palutena, are constantly fighting for the greater good. ![]() With it's captivating story, talented voice actors, and fun music, Uprising is a severely underrated title in the 3DS library. ![]() I've put at least 30 hours into it so far, and started playing since January 2019, after i finished it in July, it has won the spot as my favorite game of all time. There are 25 chapters in all, each taking from at least 10-30 minutes. Kid Icarus: Uprising is a simply wonderful game, I deliberately took my time playing so wouldn't end. Supporting the story and voice cast, is the exciting music, during flying segments, the orchestral music perfectly follows the speed of your flight and things happening around you, the most memorable song being "Dark Pit's Theme". Something that is very important to the story is the voice acting, and I can confirm, the english dub is amazing, consisting of actors you'd typically see in animation, such as Hynden Walch (the voice of Viridi) and Cree Summer (the voice of Medusa). The story follows the heroes Pit and Palutena as they fight a war against Medusa and the rest of the Underworld Army, while getting distracted by enemies such as the human-hating Forces of Nature, and Pit's dark clone nicknamed "Pittoo". Pit is the loyal and hardworking captain of Palutena's royal guard, Palutena is the snarky Goddess of Light, and protector of humanity. The gameplay is very fun, and I continued playing the online multiplayer mode after I completed every chapter. I played the entire game using a 2DS, so my console was lighter than something like a 3DSXL and less difficult on my hands. Yes, the controls are a little tough, but honestly, I got used to it eventually, even as someone who's left-handed. If you or your children are fans of the Kirby or Super Smash Brothers series, you're in luck, Uprising is directed by the same creator, Masahiro Sakurai, If you're a Nintendo fan at all, I'm sure you'll fall in love with this game. ![]() Kid Icarus: Uprising is a fantastic game, though the controls can be difficult, the story and characters make up for it.
